Appearance
About average high and average weight for a gallade, Etude holds herself with an air of pride. Her gate is strong and she walks with purpose, even if she looks like she just spent three days in a hurricane followed by another three in the jungle. Her loud voice carries quite a distance and can be heard over crowds.
Her thin form lends itself to speed, and her bladed arms to strength. But these have not been enough to keep her free of harm. Etude is covered in scars, most small and healed, but a few large ones from particularly dangerous fights can, from a close distance, be seen. Her oldest visible one is a scar on her helm from her time as a ralts; a straight split reaching two inches above her right eye. Another deep scar runs along the back of her left shoulder, ending a sliver up her back fin. The outward facing side of her right arm is scraped and battered with a steadily growing plethora of scars from attacks she’s used that arm to block.
And to top it all off is her white cape. This particular cape is made of a material of medium thickness and is new enough to not have too many rips. She does make sure to take the knee-length cape off before battle. It’s got a little button to keep it around her neck, so she can pull it off in the best dramatic fashion.

Personality
Etude figures it’s her life’s duty to take down as many bad guys as she can. Those that cause harm, hurt, or injustice, watch out - Etude fights against wrongdoers as a defender of justice. More than anything, Etude treasures peace and happiness; communities and people caring for one another. There’s good in this world, and Etude isn’t about to let anyone end it.
However, A strong moral base (and a drive to push it onto others) is not the only reason Etude is so active about stopping villains; for her, nothing is better than a good fight. She’ll go out of her way to find and fight outlaws, all to fill that void. But even in general, it’s hard for the gallade to sit still. Tasks that make her do so for too long leave her restless. She would rather paint someone’s fence than do paperwork, which is exactly what she tries to to. If asked to do an inactive task, she’s going to do her best to delay it as long as she possibly can.
When she does focus on something, however, Etude can pour herself into it, and can push herself way past the point that’s healthy. She’s also rather reckless in a fight. She's fully aware of this and so often prefers to work alone. If someone is coming along, they’ve got to be able to take care of themselves. She will always protect those who are in danger in a fight, even at the risk of serious harm to herself, but she’s not going to take people who may end up in such a situation into a fight with her.
Etude laughs in the face of danger. Nothing scares her, and she’ll never turn down a challenge. Dark cave with unknown dangers lurking inside? She’ll be the first to go in. She’s the sort that gives respect when it’s due, but she expects it in return. She has a strong sense of pride - indeed, if you insult it, she’ll do everything in her power to prove you wrong. Even if you have some fancy title, like “legendary pokemon” the only way for Etude to see you as her better is if youbeat her in a fight. And then you’ve got yourself a determined gallade as a rival.
Honor is very important to Etude. She will always fight with it, even if her opponent is using nothing but dirty tricks (though that isn’t to say she’ll fight without strategy, as that’s just as important as pure strength). Forgiveness is important to her as well. If a wrongdoer is willing to repent, she’s always willing to give a second or tenth chance. To her, the past is in the past. What matters now is, well, the now. Perhaps this makes her easier to trick, but that’s just another incited challenge for Etude. She does, however, feel that everyone should be held accountable for their actions.
Other:
Etude has a particular soft spot for children. The young are the future, you know.
She always assumes the best of people, adding to the ways to trick her. As always, Etude doesn’t really care.
She doesn't hate people who do simple wrongs. However, those that do terrible deeds, especially for fun, really rub her the wrong way, but to her no one is ever past the point of redemption.
Etude makes for a fine leader, able to drum up spirits easily and always quick to think on her feet, but she's just happy to turn leadership over to others. That said, if she's given orders that go against her morals, she's not going to go through with them.

History
Ralts are supposed to become attached to their trainers. Etude was young when she was first caught by a young trainer in kalos. The trainer was an innocent girl, one who cared more for travel and collect rare pokemon than battle; and the perfect person for a new Team Flare grunt to challenge. The ralts was not strong enough to stand against even the man’s standard pokemon, and gained nothing but a scar. The grunt was promoted for his find of the ralts and the few other rare pokemon the girl had. Male ralts become powerful gallades, after all.
Etude was raised by no person in particular. The ralts passed from hand to hand, until she met a certain trainer. She had doubts in Team Flair’s motives and in their actions. So, late one night, she left. Everything she knew she left behind, save for Etude, her one pokemon, and a family memento.
That wasn’t enough for the trainer. She felt awful for the things she had done, and hated Team Flair for what they were doing. So, she decided to put a stop to it. Under this trainer, Etude grew fast, evolving into kirlia and then gallade in quick succession. A few other pokemon joined the trainer’s team. And then they were ready. The trainer donned a mask and began her fight against first Team Flair, and then the later formed Arceus’s Hand. Etude fought valiantly alongside her.
And then came judgement day. Etude still vividly remembers the day she found herself suddenly somewhere else, and comets rained down from the sky. She knew what was happening - everyone not on the island, they were all to die. It was that day that Etude realized legendaries were not the flawless beings they were said to be. She still carries a resentment towards Arceus in her, feeling that humanity didn’t deserve what happened to them. Not her trainer.
But everyone has to move on. Etude adjusted to her new surroundings, entirely inhabited by pokemon. She became a sort of vigilante, stopping crime wherever she could and helping those in need. She would still be doing that now (exclusively), but in the few following decades, gained enough experience and fame that it lent itself to getting her the position of deputy mayor. It’s not so much that she’s had to settle down, she’s far from an old lady, but more she can do more good from a position of some power.
