Cadence didn't often leave the comfort of Ingis village. She had adjusted quite well to city life and loved living in a place where she could find belonging. However, Cadence was still wild at heart; sometimes she needed to get out into the fresh air and let the salt of the sea burn the flawlessness from her coat to remind her. But she had come to a dilemma; she had brought a book for her to read, but she feared to get it wet and saltsoaked if she went out to the ocean. What is a lopunny to do?
Sighing, Cadence combed her fingers through the fur of her ears and stared out into the sea with her giant empty eyes. Her brows were somewhat furrowed, though the tufts of fur that sprouted from them deflated rather exaggeratedly to give her something of a pout. She supposed that she would have plenty of time to swim in the summer.
Which reminded her...snapping back to attention, she looked at the large clump of gray and white fur she had pulled off of herself. Since the start of spring, she had been shedding. Most of it came off in masses that left her sweeping for days, so all that was left was patches of black and white mixed with the cream on the thicker parts of her coat. She had been thinking of saving the fur and knitting it into a sweater for the winter...
Cadence put the clump of fur into her paperboy bag and pulled out a blanket, sunglasses, and a book in its place. Unfolding the peacha berry patterned blanket, she sat it as close to the tide line she could get before it would soak it. She laid on her stomach and placed the book in front of her, idly turning the pages as her large eyes surfed through the ocean of words and the cool mist entertained the things that would come in the summer.
It wasn't that Cadence didn't see the taint of blood that scarred the island, and she knew what had happened. She had chosen not to let that horrible event forever ruin such a perfectly good beach. After all, more horrible and gruesome things were sure to come before utopia was finally gifted to those who would survive. They just needed a reason to weed out all those weak-hearted humans from the world before pokemon could have their paradise, and the need to rose from the sacrifice of those noble pokemon. She could only hope that if she was to be sacrificed, it would trigger an inkling of such a monumental moment in history. Cadence sighed to herself at the thought before returning to her reading, focus sharpening to avoid any further daydreaming.

Wynikan strolled along the beach slowly, as he did his head lowered to the ground. He was so bored, so.......he shook his head of those thoughts. He had a good life and that was all he could ask for. He took a deep breath and continued to walk along the beach, he stopped for a moment to look up to the sun, and when he looked back down he spotted a lopunny. He stared at her for a few minutes before raising his head up high and walking past her. As he walked past her, he turned around and stared right at her.
“And……who do you think you are?”
Of course, he was just acting his usual way. He couldn’t help it. Acting all big and mighty. Acting bigger than he actually was, as if he owned the place. He continued to wait, even snarling a little as he did so. He took a deep breath and stood forward towards her.
“Well? I’m waiting! Don’t keep me waiting now!”
He snarled once more as he waited. He didn’t like waiting, not at all. He wasn’t a patient person. He continued to snarl and wait as he stepped closer to her, but the voice, the appearance, even the scent, it all suggested female and that was what he hated most. That was why he was like this, he had to be. He couldn't let weakness show, he refused to let weakness show.

Cadence heard the pokemon joining her on the bloodied beach; even the soft cushion of the sand and their light weight couldn't mute the steps enough. Her large ears weren't for decoration after all. She chose to not acknowledge them unless they approached her. She usually was very welcoming and chatty, but at the moment she was absorbed in this book. Its words and the narrative in the persona of death especially touched her.
Then there was words and growling. Yes, this one was especially aggressive. She wasn't sure if he was bluffing or not, but it mattered very little to her either way. Attack her or not, she was going to finish this paragraph.
It was a while of silence; enough to allow him to get particularly close. His snarling would normally be distracting, especially to her sensitive ears, but she had an uncanny amount of focus on things she was passionate about. Cadence turned the page of her book before finally opening her mouth and speaking with all the warmth and cheerfulness her voice usually reflected;
"You are going to die."
The words were clear and quite plainly spoken. Her glassy, almost lifeless red eyes secretly probed for a reaction; to see if they brought any emotion into the opposite eyes in front of her. They seemed to be washed away with the tide. It was unusual how long she allowed them to linger before sitting up and folding her legs beneath her. Even while sitting, she had to crane her neck down to look at the pokemon before her. She didn't see it so much of the other being small, but rather she was way too big. She was used to lingering over everyone she talked to. Well, "used to" wasn't the right word. She just had to accept it. After letting the words sink in, she continued the quote.
"It might be unnerving to hear Death addressing us so plainly. But he's not really telling us anything we don't know. Rather, he's expressing his vision of humans as sharing a common identity in our mortality.
With the last of the quote she let out a deep sigh and a smile spread across her face. "Well? There is something so poetic in the way that humans speak. It would be enlightening if not for the fact that it is the words of the weak and extinct. What do you think?"
Suddenly, her otherwise lifeless eyes widened; the crimson was rapidly absorbed by the black void of her pupils. Her head gave a slight tilt an her smile widened enough to a little to show the carnivorous teeth that rested underneath. Suddenly remembering her manners, she cleared her throat and hid them once again. "My name is Cadence. Who may you be?"

Wynikan showed his teeth to her as she spoke to him. He's going to die? If that wasn't a threat he didn't know what was. He stepped closer to her as she continued to speak, and finally, she answered the question that he so impatiently waited for. "You DO NOT start talking to somebody with 'You're going to die!" How DARE you speak to me like that! If you DARE threaten me once more I shall make you regret it, do you hear me?! Now, as for my name, you can call me Wynikan." He didn't care if she was a part of the creed, nobody spoke to him like that. He wouldn't allow it. He growled loudly at her, baring his shiny white teeth as he stepped closer to her. Cadence

The feisty pokemon continued to bare teeth, but Cadence's empty eyes stared on, unblinking and void of any reaction, be it negative or possitive. When he spoke, her bright toothy grin returned to her face. Even a giggle was brought from her lips! Why, such a fire coming from this one. "But is it not a fact of life to all mortals that one day, it will end? I'm simply reminding you of a constant that we often push to the back of our mind and run from. I can tell from your reaction that this passage speaks so passionately to you as it does to me albeit in a...different way." Cadence remarked rather dreamily, combing her delicate fingers through the fur of her ears. "Its good." She suddenly said, snapping out of her trance. The only physical indication was the tightening of her pupils as they stared on. "Its actually great that you so vehemently reject death. Its probably why you have survived the first wave of infections. I do believe you will triumph over what is to come as well." "But I do ramble," the lopunny started, waving away her casual words. Thats what they were to her; casual things that come to mind that she usually shared with any creed member who approached her to talk. She had a bit of a one-track mind, and not much of a personal life going on outside of book reading. It was all she knew through and through, and thats why she felt it so important that she shared her message. After all, she never knew what the future could bring. "How may I help you?" Cadence offered with a slight tilt to her head. She wasn't used to being talked to outside of helping others with a problem. From newly infected pokemon to missions, Cadence kept herself busy doing the infection-related business of other pokemon. Primarily because she does it so well with such little incident, the neighboring villages wouldn't even notice The Creed is being active. Wynikan

Wynikan growled a little as she spoke, he stared at her, just listening to the words that were spat out of her mouth. Once she was finished, he took a deep breath and sighed. He turned around for a moment and walked over to the sea. He then stared at his reflection. After a few minutes had passed, he turned back to her and broke the silence again. "You can't help me. Nobody can help me." He sighed once more and walked back up to her. He sat himself down in front of her and began to stare in her eyes seriously. "This world is cruel. The pokemon in it are cruel. To survive, you have to be more cruel than everyone else. There is nothing you can do for me and there is nothing I can do for you. You are right, everyone is bound to die one day, but until that day comes we live our miserable lives." He sighed once more and looked up to the sky. Had he said too much? Ah, who cares if he did. He was tough, he wouldn't cry. He couldn't cry, he took a deep breath and looked back down to her. Cadence

Oh, what a gloomy fella this one turned out to be! Such a shame, she wished that he could hold such a fire for everything that life threw his way. She had figured that she was quite...unique in that aspect, but she still felt that there would be others like her out there and she had found one of them. Throughout the words that Wynikan spoke, Cadence was calm and still smiling. Her face did not reflect any form of empathy or sympathy...but rather excitement. If anything could be taken from her expression, it was that his words filled her with even more hope. And it did, so much that when she was sure that he was done she clapped and bounced, her powerful legs made her bounce high enough to get to her feet, but she remained seated upon them when she landed. "Right you are! Well, for the most part, really~" she practically sung, drawing her hands up to the heart shaped crest on her chest to calm herself. Her features and tone softened into a more serene tone. For once she looked like she was actually staring at Wynikan and not into or through him. "This world is filled with pain and suffering as it stands now. Pokemon's heart have grown cold and distant and it feels like we have been abandoned by Arceaus. With every day, the radiation becomes more deadly and infectious. But everything happens for a reason...This is but a trial that each and every one of us must endure. Some of us won't make it to the end; perhaps even you and I won't, but the survivors..." Now it was Cadence's turn to look to the sky, but her look was a look of hope. She took in a deep breath and let out a sigh, letting her eyes close and the rush of ocean wind overtake her. "Arceus has big plans for the survivors; those who not only won't surrender their heart to defeat, but welcome the challenges he place on this planet. He wants us to earn our reward; and what lies ahead for those survivors will be so beautiful and grand. I can feel it with all my heart. Every day I wake in the morning is another day closer to it, and that alone is worth smiling about." When her passionate little rant was done, she looked back down to Wynikan. Her eyes gleamed with a passion that she otherwise did not hold in them when she talked about the future paradise. "Can you see it, Wynikan? All the hope and despair; love and loss; trails and conquests; and every other beautiful conflict of forces blending together and blooming into the peace after a long fought war?"Wynikan
