Appearance
Huge, stocky, a draft horse made into a rapidash. This equine pokemon has huge muscles that are made for pulling huge loads and toting around a lot of weight. Not to mention there's a lot of room across his wide back for children to ride which many of them enjoy doing immensely. Which is good because he doesn't mind carrying around thousands of pounds in weight, in fact he actually enjoys it. With his huge girth and weight you'd think he would be a tall rapidash but really he's not. He only stands at about 15.1 hands high but is made of mostly muscle. His horn is something of great pride, along with his great strength, and it stands at about three feet in length... some brave children enjoy trying to swing from it.
In color this great draft is a washed out gray, he was slightly darker as a youth but it faded out with age. On his face he has a wide white blaze that becomes pink at his nose and lips. Being a shiny rapidash he has blue flames but like all others, despite his ability, he can control whether they burn someone who touches them or not. Usually he keeps his body and flames at a soothing temperature to keep the children warm who ride him, especially in the winter. However, in the heat of battle his flames become so hot that they can cause severe burns if touched.
Around his massive hooves and fetlocks he doesn't have flames but instead he has feathers, or long fur that shows his draft heritage. The feathers almost completely cover his dark blue hooves.
Because of Pharoah's great size he isn't very fast, in fact, he's probably one of the slowest rapidashes you will ever find but he makes up for it with his muscle and his great and calm demeanor. Back before he took up his daycare duties he used to have many a battle with his trainer and in dungeons so his pelt is littered with blemishes and scars that tell the tales of these fights. However, with his soft chocolate eyes one can easily look past these scars and see that his heart is pure and kind.

Personality
Calm and collected. Unlike most equine pokemon it takes a lot to startle this fellow. Usually you'll find him plodding around slowly at his own pace --usually with children on his back from his job-- with his muzzle nearly touching the ground. He doesn't keep his head low because he's upset or stressed, he does it because he's relaxed and calm about his environment. He's a massive specimen of rapidash and he knows it so hardly anything startles him... Except the one time he was spooked by a plastic bag, he's still never lived that one down. Okay, most things don't bother him. The only time he's ever really spooked is if he's caught unaware by something new or something suddenly rushing up in one of his blind spots (directly behind him and directly in front of his muzzle). Children are a different story, he knows when he's surrounded by them its bound to happen where he'll be bombarded by a child coming in straight behind him but it's different when children. He can put on a calmer demeanor than if he's walking alone around town and someone out of the blue rushes him... Like the plastic bag. Pharoah usually feels better when he's in a group in any case, more creatures to watch his back and stand guard in his blind areas.
Now, this fellow isn't a person that you would come to to help you out with math problems as he isn't the brightest bulb in the box. However, he has something that a lot of pokemon lack... common sense. He's very down-to-earth and always willing to listen to those that want to spout their problems out to him. He never judges, never turns a pokemon away because of their past. He always judges them by what they want to be, not for what they've done. After all, someone can change if you just give them a chance. He's also willing to give you pointers to help you change. He has sage advice and it would be good to set time aside to listen when he speaks. If you don't want to listen then that's fine too... He still won't judge, he'll simply wish you luck and hope that you'll come back around later. He had oodles of patience, almost to the point that he's a pushover, it's how he deals with children popping up all over and climbing him like a living jungle gym. He takes everything in stride, never too fast and never too slow.
A lot of pokemon think that this fellow is a pushover because of slow, southern drawl and his endless patience but don't let that fool you. He's a fire type pokemon and was once a battler... He still has this fire in his blood. If you think you're going to come up and bully him --or Arecus forbid-- one of his many charges then you'll have another thing coming... A swift kick to the rear! Pokemon that are trying to change is one thing but those that are bullies or are just trying to use him and then hurt him later will catch his anger. Now, that isn't to say that he won't forgive someone for a transgression but watch out because he will swiftly put you in your place if you step out of line. He's not one to be walked all over and will use his size and his voice to put people back where they belong. He doesn't care what your reputation is or what kind of pokemon you are. If you're hassling others and showing disrespect he will say something and he won't back down.

History
Pharoah was born a few short years before everything hit the fan. He was bred for battle by a trainer in the Kalos region and dubbed Pioneer of the Nile for his battle name. From the time he was old enough to breath fire he was trained. Pharaoh didn't mind his training though, in fact he loved to try and please his owner by winning every single fight that he could. Sure, it was a little tiring and he received many scars from the battles but he didn't mind. His trainer was happy and so was he.
That was when everything started to happen... When everything started to go downhill. The meteors... the slaughter... Pharoah tried to protect his trainer but it was too much for a young pokemon like him and in the end his trainer was killed by a meteor. Soon a flashing light came around him, and the ponyta found himself in a strange new place. The young ponyta wandered on his own for a while, not knowing where to go or what to do... That was when he stumbled upon Idris' daycare. There he stayed for a few years as he grew older and learned more about the world. The young pokemon enjoyed helping to tend to the other pokemon, he had a passion and gift for it but in his heart he still yearned for something else... He was bred for the joy of battle and he missed it. After he reached twenty years of age the ponyta set off on a quest. During this quest he went to evolve along with train in the many dungeons of the lands. Here he earned many new scars and much more wisdom from his adventures.
After he had his fill of fighting and questing he returned to Idris and decided to help with the Daycare. He would allow the children to ride on him as a fun stress relief from the terrible world around him. On his off days he'll sometimes go about town and help other pokemon when they have loads that need to be pulled or other hard labor. He enjoys the work and it helps to keep that battle-fire in his heart down. Though sometimes he still likes to go out and patrol dungeons to fight or simply collect items... He knows the risks but he just can't help himself.
