It was a few hours after sunrise, late enough that most pokemon would have had breakfast and would be on with their daily business, but early enough that the sun had yet to disperse the chill the spring night had brought in the night. If he were still in the forest, Feilding would have spent the morning checking on the young flowers. Ironic.
The guild building did have some nice flowers; young, but colorful and well-cared for. They certainly helped with the motivation of going up all those stairs. Being a guild rebuilt by a short stubby little lump of a pokemon, one would think there would be a few less tall rectangular prisms to hop up. Once at the top of the stairs, the little shaymin stood off to the side for a moment to gather himself. Grassland strolls had nothing on the sheer verticality of slabs cut into the hillside, especially when the morning was still raw and there were places to be. He’d nearly tripped, and faced toppling back down the hill, twice on his ascent. This would take some getting used to.
Several pokemon passed from and into the guild while the shaymin summoned up his energy. A couple glanced at him, to which he returned a glance in turn. When a young bidoof emerged from the gate (obviously a guild member, having adorned his scarf proudly with his badge so that folds in the cloth wouldn’t cover it), Feilding made his first interaction.
“You.” He said, a little more stoutly than he intended. The bidoof jumped back in surprise at his sudden address. “I’m here to meet with Guild Master Grace. Tell her that one of Diana’s children is waiting outside.” The bidoof nodded, looking mildly confused, and spun right back on his heels into the guild.
He’d had given no advance warning. Indeed, Feilding was unsure if Grace even knew of his existence. This would certainly be his first time meeting her. He’d not been to the guild since Diana had taken over - he had planned to, but life drew him elsewhere. By the time his business had been sorted, well, he’d honestly forgotten. It wasn’t until a letter arrived a few weeks ago (the courier at last tracking him down), that he’d been reminded. It was also then that he was first told that the guild had a new head.
Feilding certainly hoped Grace lived up to her namesake. He hadn’t come with the hope that the young new leader would be worse than his mother, unworthy of the title, though that an assumption he’d been working to get rid of so as to unbias his thoughts. Far from it, in fact. He hoped Grace lived up to all of the good words he’d heard on the way here, from all the friendly pokemon singing her praise. However, unlike with the other pokemon of power he’d conversed with in the past, this meeting would be of personal importance. One part of his mind wasn’t shutting up about the negativities.
At least the sky was clear that morning. Maybe that was to be a good omen.

Inferno looked around slowly, his snout raised and the air rushed to his nostrils. After having a few sniffs he looked around once more. He was new to this place.....or......he thought he was. He wasn't sure. Had he been here before? Maybe. He looked around and smiled a minute. Oh! Of course he has! He's a member......wait..... is he? Maybe. He shrugged for a moment and then looked around to see a shaymin. Was that the guildmaster? He could of sworn the guildmaster was a female. Must be his memory playing tricks on him. He shrugged and walked up to him, using his sense of smell, hearing and touch to move about. Once he moved in front of him he smiled for a moment.
"Hello Guildmaster...........guildmaster........Mace...? Are you the Guildmaster? You are one of those tiny shaymins. Anyway, my name is.......is..........my name is... err... oh, of course. My name is Infernape, wait, I totally meant Inferno. Nice to meet you sir."
He laughed loudly, a little embarrassed but oh well. He hated his memory, god, he must of had the worst memory in history. He can't even remember who he got this curse from. Was it his mother, father? He couldn't remember which one had the bad memory gene. Oh well, it wasn't really that important right now.

Grace was currently asleep, exhausted from the night before when suddenly a Bidoof came in. She immediately shot up and shouted to him. "I'm working, I'm working!" She looked around frantically before turning to him. Grace then let out a cute giggle and yawned once more. She shook her head and rubbed her eyes before speaking once more. "Sorry.....do you need anything?" Once the Bidoof informed her about another shaymin, who was apparently one of Diana's children, she got curious. That could only mean one thing, and if that was true, then she couldn't keep this Shaymin waiting. "Thank you for informing me. I will leave right away, you may carry on with your duties." With that, Grace hopped off her desk and began to walk towards where the Bidoof said the shaymin was. She was excited, to possible see a relative of hers? How could she not be excited. Once she raised his location, she smiled seeing a Cyndaquil had already met him. She stepped forward and nodded her head at the two of them. "Hello there. I am Guildmaster Grace. Nice to meet the two of you. Is there anything I can do to help either of you?" She never dropped her bright smile, and didn't show her excitement. Not yet at least. She had to keep herself professional, especially around other members. Sadly, she couldn't help but let a quick yawn slip pass her lips. She shook her head and let out a cute giggle. Feilding

There is no point running from youth, Feilding had found. You can be as swift or as crafty as you want - it will always find you. This particular manifestation of youth was both confused and confusing. Feilding blinked at the cyndaquil's greeting. He certainly hoped the pokemon wasn’t an infernape - that would mean he was either blind, or very, very mistaken. But that was only the beginning of the fire type’s errors. Mace? How would one make the leap from “Feilding” to “Mace”? Did he look like a “Mace”? Feilding very much hoped not, as he didn’t care for the title. Nor did he carry the title of “guildmaster”. That belonged to Grace.
Oh, that’s where he got “Mace” from. Feilding was relieved.
The shaymin turned his little loggy body to face the cyndaquil (who was actually taller than him) and frowned. “You must be mistaken. My name’s Feilding, and I’m here to speak with the- ah, Guildmaster.” Feilding greeted the arriving shaymin. Who was, as it were, a good bit bigger than him. He tried not to feel dwarfed.
“My name is Feilding.” He said again, sitting up straight and serious on his hind legs. “I will skip the pleasantries. Like you, I am related to Diana, and as such have a connection to this guild. It’s a high power you wield, Guildmaster. Why did you take your position?” His voice was serious, and he got that much out. But then, the Guildmaster employed a yawn. Feilding couldn’t help it. He yawned back.

Inferno nodded his head. Feilding, he would have to try and remember that. Then the Guildmaster came, Grace! Of course, how could he forget? Once again Feilding introduced himself. After they finished talking, all that came through his ears were yawns. He couldn't help but yawn himself. He shook his head quickly and stepped up towards the two.
"Who is Diancle? Is she a shaymin too Fling....wait no. Sorry. I meant.....uuuh. What is your name again? Sorry, I forgot to remember to remember your name."
He looked to Feilding with a tiny smile. The yawn distracted him. He then looked to Grace for a moment and stared at her. He looked back to Feilding and then back to Grace. They were both shaymin.
"Wait, are you two related? Wow! That's really cool, isn't it Fredrick? To be related to the Guildmaster!"
He smiled, once again not realizing he had got the name wrong. Why was he so forgetful?

Grace couldn't help but giggle as the cyndaquil kept talking. She tried her hardest not to. Once she was done laughing she looked up to Feilding once more and nodded to him.
"You said you are one of Diana's children. That means your.....my brother. Why haven't I seen or heard about you until now? Nonetheless you asked me a question. The reason I became Guildmaster is because there was nobody else to take over and I wanted to make a paradise. I still do. I want to make this guild a safe heaven for all pokemon. No matter who they may be. Mutant, wild, everyone is welcome as long as they don't disturb the peace."
She smiled brightly and turned to Inferno. She liked having a bit of fun every now and then.
"His name is Gregory. So, what is your name?"
She giggled once more and looked at Feilding, wondering how he would react.

Fling. Fredrick. Gregory. Feilding had been called more names in the past five minutes then, well, since the last time he seriously insulted someone. If there were more than the three of them there, it’d be hard to tell who was calling who what. But that was besides the point.
“Half siblings, yes. Did Diana not speak of me?” Feilding had been aware of Grace’s existence before now, at least. He found it hard to believe his mother would never have mentioned him, but then again, he’d spent only what was a very small percentage of his life with her. But again, that was for another time. Feilding narrowed his brow. “No one else to take over, you say? And do not most of your fellow guild member desire and strive for peace? What makes you, Cheryl, Guildmaster over, say, young Harry here?” He said without missing a beat.

Inferno looked to Filding for a minute as he called him Harry. He tilted his head, before looking at Grace. Was he talking to her then? He shook his head softly then looked to Feilding. Was he talking to him? He tilted his head some more as he began to think. "Harry? My name isn't Harry... is it? It might be. Actually... I think it is Harry... OH! Oh no! It isn't Harry. It's... It's... My name is... is... Inferno! My name is Inferno. Wait, what were you saying now Harry?" He looked at Feilding and tilted his head softly. Had he gotten mixed up again? No, surely not. He did say Harry... didn't he? Oh, forget it. Feilding

Grace giggled loudly. This cyndaquil was so funny. She turned to Feilding with a bright smile and stepped closer to him. She took a deep breath before speaking to answer his question. "No, Diana never told me of you, Harry. I am Diana's daughter, the previous guildmaster. She declared that I would take over when she was gone. She raised me so I would be ready. Honestly, there are a lot of pokemon here who could be a good guildmaster. I never asked to be Guildmaster. I was born into the position." She yawned softly once more and rubbed her eyes. She suddenly remembered something, she had barely any sleep. With her excitement, she was able to stay awake for so long but now she was getting tired again. Feilding.

Born into it, huh? That was a common enough response that Feilding couldn’t draw any real conclusions from it, good or bad. Some born to be rulers were given the proper training, instilled morals at a young age. Others were left without guidance, or worse, manipulated for another’s gain. Diana, Feilding felt, was unlikely to do either of the later (even if she had never spoken of him. He felt a little sour about that, but he couldn’t rightfully take it out on anyone present).
“Then allow me to ask a different question.” Feilding continued. “As the guildmaster Harrietta, what do you feel is your most important duty? And you, Infer-” The yawn he had been suppressing broke free of his willpower and came in full force. His weakness… he’d even had a good night’s sleep.
Quelling the yawn, he picked up where he left off. “Inferno.” He addressed the cyndaquil. “What is your most important duty as a guild member?”
