Appearance
Bronte is a large specimen of shinx, possibly due to his dragon double-typing. He stands at a height of two and a half feet while he weighs in at thirty-five pounds. Not as large as a deino but certainly larger than any normal shinx. He has normal proportions of a shinx, the only exception to this is his short, fluffy tail which is golden in color. Despite the shinx line having good eyesight his is poor... or rather, nonexistent. He has a thick mane like a deino which covers his chest, neck, and most of his face. A lot of people say this makes him look intimidating but that's probably because they can't see his eyes and his mouth is usually kept in an impassive line.
His fur is sky-blue and soft to the touch. Around his forelegs are the golden electric bands that fuel his high-charged attacks. His nose is a velvety pink and on either side of his head are two cub-like ears. These ears and his nose, because he is blind, help him out spectacularly. They are keener than any eye and let him battle on equal, and sometimes better, grounds when against others. However if he is ever confused about an object it's not uncommon for him to give it an experimental chomp... beware.

Personality
Dunce. Idiot. Simpleton. That's only a few of the words he's heard himself called in his life. Most people assume because he is a mutant and because he is quiet that he's not very smart. However, Bronte simply chooses not to speak and if you don't want to stick around long enough to see that he's quite brilliant then that's your fault. Bronte is simply a quiet thinker and an even quieter soul. His ideas are usually kept to himself unless he's with his brother or someone else that he extremely likes. Don't expect him to voice a plan that would save your skin either, if he doesn't know or like you then he's likely to let you crash and burn. Not because he's evil but his simple logic is "Why should I help someone that thinks I'm stupid? Or didin't even ask for my help in the first place?" In any case, even though he's part of a guild if he didn't have the push of his brother he'd probably be on his own trying to survive alone.
Bronte is loyal to a fault and selfless for those he cares about. He'd take a bullet, throw himself in front of a train, or give all of his legs if it would make someone he loved happy. There's nothing too big or too small for his loved ones. That being said when someone picks on Bronte he's likely not even to bat an ear but if someone starts to pick on his brother then that's when you get growls and shown fangs. Unlike Joey, he was born with a seemingly high amount of strength and skill for attacking. He's glad to use this skill to protect his loved ones and will do so when the need arises as it often does. Still, when he is alone he is slow, impossible even, to anger. He just gives that blank look that he does so well and says nothing which is usually effective at scaring off would-be assailants.
There are very few pokemon that can easily read Bronte's expressions --which isn't an easy task with his impassive mouth and no eyes-- but there are those pokemon out there. If you take the time you can notice the twitch of his muzzle which indicates irritation or the lifting of his ears that shows surprise or even the slight twitch of his lips that shows he's happy. His expressions are there, contrary to popular belief, you just have to be paying attention and know him. If you take the time to figure out these little emotions and don't just write him off as stupid then you'll earn points on Bronte's book. If you earn points in his book then he might just be inclined to talk to you past just saying a single word.

History
His mother, a simple luxio, would never have suspected she would be part of a cruel experiment but that was exactly what happened when a hydreigon approached her and seemingly began to court her because he was infatuated. Soon, the naive young girl became pregnant and before long bore him a son, a disfigured pokemon with features of a deino. Horrified the luxio dumped him off in the middle of her town along with another young mutant that the hydreigon had gotten out of a poor raticate. The shinx's mother, horrified at what had happened fled in shame. The hydreigon, happy with the results, documented what happened and moved on to seduce more young pokemon for his experiments.
The little shinx, now an orphan, mewled and cried in the middle of the town along with his brother. No one wanted them because of their freakish appearances... No one except for one kindly pokemon that swooped down to rescue them. It took them into its life and raised the pair like they were its own. Every night they would get stories read to them, stories that the shinx didn't particularly care about since he wanted to be out and practicing moves but he tolerated them. Especially since his brother loved them so much. He'd listen to how Joey wanted to be part of the guild and be strong like the rattata in the stories. Bronte could never say that he wanted the same, the nomadic life seemed more appealing but he would follow wherever Joey went. They'd been together all through their childhood, Bronte a constant support when bullies tried to pick on them.
It was when they grew older that they finally were able to leave their home behind and start their new life in the guild. Bronte still isn't so sure about the rescue business but he does enjoy getting to explore and battle and as long as Joey is happy, he is too.
