Appearance
Armed with a sinister grin and fierce, aqua eyes, Akantha is an unnerving beast to behold. Like most of her kind, she sports grey fur with a thick, black collar, and a long, wild red mane that is pulled back into a seeming ponytail of sorts. Yet, different from normal Zoroarks, Akantha stands a bit taller and seems much more rugged, her fur disheveled and limbs marred with various scars, especially on her hind legs, shoulders, and muzzle. The tip of her left ear seems to have a chunk taken out of it, but has healed over.
Although her form is lithe and slinky, Akantha is a bit bulkier than others of her kind, her fur hiding the muscle undertones she has. There is an odd, almost crazed glint in her eyes, making her appear very predatory. She appears to look unkempt with dirt tainting her claws and muzzle, no doubt the effects of living in the wild.

Personality
Known by many as the 'Fiend of a Thousand Faces', Akantha has sealed her fate as an Outlaw by manipulation and violence. She uses her wit to take on the form of other Poke'mon, luring victims away from their homes before confronting them in her true form, demanding goods else she harm them. In this sense, she is a ruthless piece of work with absolutely no regard to her fellow poke'mon, save for herself.
It is because of her chosen lifestyle that Akantha views herself as a loner, much preferring to be left to her own devices than to team up with other Poke'mon. However, she is not stupid, and will unite forces if absolutely necessary (with no guarantee she won't back-stab her partner in the end). That isn't to say she is incapable of forming relationships with others, but it will definitely take a certain personality to intrigue her.
Akantha is cold - there are no two ways about it. Many consider her to be cruel, and she often exemplifies this title in her methods. However, she doesn't usually try to kill her victims - she much prefers to intimidate them out of their goods, or at the very least give them a beating. As far as anyone knows, she hasn't outright killed anyone yet, which gives some pause... does this beast have a heart after all? Or is it simply a matter of convenience?
Whatever the case may be, Akantha tries to remain a reclusive enigma... with a fierce bite.

History
Akantha's earliest memories are ones of strife and survival, having been hatched into the land of Trasian mere years after the legendaries sundered the Human race. Her parents, a Zoroark mother and a Weavile father, had become scavengers and thieves in order to get by, and as such food was always scarce. Akantha was always fed, but she could see the hunger creeping in her family's eyes.
They were nomadic, constantly on the move as to avoid capture or death from the Poke'mon they preyed upon, as well as to avoid the radiation from the fallen stars as much as possible. Akantha was mostly spared, having hidden away in her mother's mane for most of the time. It was this very mane that also provided her mother with protection, as she wrapped it around her maw when traversing the land.
Her father, however, had no protection save for a frayed scrap of red cloth that he used as a bandanna. Being head of the family, he often led the way into new territories, scouting the way before allowing Akantha and her mother passage. As such, he was always the first one to be exposed to the radiation, crime, and disease that plagued the land. The Weavile insisted it didn't affect him, but Akantha's mother knew better - he was going mad.
It didn't take long for her father to snap, and after an intense fight between him and akantha's mother, tooth and claw being thrown against one another, the Weavile escaped into the night, wounded and never to be seen again. The Zorua mourned for her father, being young and naive, but her mother remained silent. The only sign of her sorrow was the feather she had plucked from her mate's tail, and how she clung to it dearly after Akantha fell asleep.
Life moved on, mother and daughter living off the land and other Poke'mon to the best of their abilities. During this time, Akantha's mother became cold and ruthless, the loss of her mate pushing her into overdrive. She was determined to care for Akantha no matter the cost, and began teaching the young Zorua survival methods, including battling and stealing.
However, it wasn't enough; Akantha and her mother began to go hungry. Desperate to feed her child, Akantha's mother carefully led the Zorua to civilization, her heart heavy. Her intentions were to leave her child with The Guild, and hopefully barter a deal so that she might join them as well, but they never made it there - the pair already had wanted posters, and as they neared New Leaf Town, were assailed by bounty hunters.
It was a hard fought fight, but in the end, akantha's mother was captured. She willed the Zorua to flee, but Akantha was fearful and desperate, causing her to go into a frenzy. The battle rekindled, Akantha's new found strength turned the tides, eventually causing the hunters to flee. But the fight had already taken it's toll; akantha's mother was gravely injured, and very old. She wasn't going to make it.
The last thing she whispered to her daughter was how proud she was of her, and to find the Bloodmoon Pools. Quickly, quietly, Akantha's mother then passed away.
Spurning society, Akantha spent many moons trying to find the Bloodmoon Pools her mother spoke of, improving her survival skills along the way. She was finally tipped off to where the Pools were after threatening a passerby Poke'mon who knew of it's location, and went straight for it. The journey through the Path of Rebirth was arduous, but well-fought, and eventually brought her to the Blood Pools. unsure of why her mother wanted her to go there, Akantha felt defeated, until a strange energy embraced her and triggered her evolution. She emerged from the Pools a Zoroark, the spitting image of her late mother.
Nowadays, angry at the world and condemned to be alone, akantha survives still. She scavenges off other Poke'mon and their belongings, using brute force if necessary, but otherwise sticking to her own. Yet every so often, she will curl her mane/ponytail in front of her face, imitating the warmth her mother once provided her.
